He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Griess and Esther Griess (Pierce); and his siblings, Charles, Mitchell Griess, Marcella Hite and Elizabeth Wooten.
He is survived by: his children, Bernie (Jeannie), James (Jeri), Christopher Griess and Amanda Muench (Marcus); his grandchildren, Jessie, Wesley, Faith, Benjamin, Isabella, Noah, Savannah, Emma and Leyna; his great grandchildren, Evie and Lilly; his siblings, David, Albert, Donald Griess and Cordia Lashensky; and the mother of his children Sunny Allen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Kentucky Veteran's Cemetery North (205 Eibeck Ln, Williamstown, KY 41097).
