It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Douglas Ray Tolliver Sr. (Independence, Kentucky), born in Knoxville, Tennessee, who passed away on March 5, 2020, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Pat Tolliver and Bernice Vera Brown (Gilbert); his siblings, Charles Tolliver and Connie Starkweather; his grandchildren, Mayzie, Eva Gurwitch and Madeline Tolliver; his nephew Major Douglas Ray Solan; and his niece Tamulen Eulene Solan.
He is survived by: his close friend Stacy Coe; his children, Douglas Ray Tolliver, Jr. (Mary), Jason Matthew Tolliver, Shannon Melissa Gurwitch (Jeffery), Leslie Michelle NesSmith (Chad) and Heather Lynn; his brother Jerry Tolliver; his brother-in-law Lee Starkweather; his sisters, Karen Solan (Richard) and Angie Tolliver; his nephew Shane Tolliver; his nieces, Kelly Lasalle, Tracy Lovan (Brad) and Danielle Donahue (Shawn); and his grandchildren, Able Blaker (April), Jernigan Newell, Alexei Newell (Alexa), Alvin Blaker, Channing NesSmith, Caelan Tolliver, Gracey Gurwitch, Jesly Tolliver, Landon NesSmith, Ethan Gurwitch, Dylan Tefteller, Jimmy Weaver, Kelsy Tolliver, Douglas Ray Tolliver, Alby Tolliver and Noah NesSMith. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, and by his beloved dogs.
He served his community, volunteering his time and/or labor at the Regional Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, Rebuilding Oklahoma, and the Wonderfully Made Foundation.
