He is survived by: his wife Charlene Caldwell Helton; his children, Sonia Morris of Richmond, Chesna Osborne (Rodney) of Helton, Herman Dale Helton II (Jennie) of Helton and Timothy Darryl Helton (Allie) of Helton; his siblings, Richard Helton of Corbin, Herthel Helton (Barbara) of Keavy and Ruby Depew (Joe) of Harlan, Kentucky.; his daughter Melissa Hatter; and his grandchildren, Jessica, Katie, Faye, Pheyton, Presley, Kortney, Whitney, Joshua Koby, S. Marine Corp, Kayla, Bryce, Triston, Lauren, Carly and Kara Wilson.
