He was predeceased by: his parents, Stephen America Smith and Lena Elizabeth Lawson Sandidge; his wife Judy Brown Smith; and his sister Diane Trailor. He is survived by: his sons, Stephen Arthur Smith of Moreland and Nathan Ashley Smith of Danville; and his sister Dixie Brown (Elwood) of Stanford.
