He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Emerson and Ona Roberts Waddle; his wife Georgia Louise Carter Emerson; and his siblings, Pete Emerson, Donald Emerson and Wilma Emerson.
He is survived by: his daughter Elizabeth Van Hook of Danville; his stepson Timothy Pendergraft of Hustonville; his grandson Cody Van Hook (Abby) of Richmond; his great grandchild Connor Van Hook of Tennessee; and his nieces, Wilma Hall (C. B.) of Newport and Norma Tranquill (Paul) of California.
