He was predeceased by: his parents, Perry Prater and Cleffie Prater Prater; and his siblings, Rondel Ray Prater and Barbara Turner. He is survived by: his wife Carol Shepherd Prater; his sons, Josh Prater (Courtney) of Hueysville and Jacob Prater (Brittany) of Hueysville; his siblings, Hubert Prater (Doe), Shelbia Jean Caudill of Oldsmar, FL, Syrilda Faye Martin (Palmer), Peggy Ray (Russell) of Covington, KY and Priscilla Prater; and his grandchildren, Landon Cory, Eli Francis, Bronxton Cade, Braydon Prater and Jayce Adkins.
