He was predeceased by: his parents, Beacher Howard and Zella Bailey Howard Prater; and his brothers, Billy Howard, Willis Howard, Roosevelt Howard and Wendell Prater.
He is survived by: his children, Dalton Howard of Hueysville, KY, John Howard (Delisa) of Hueysville, KY, Lynn Isaac (George) of Hueysville, KY and Angela Little of Hueysville, KY; and his siblings, Rondal Prater of Indiana, Ruth Shepherd of Michigan, Ruby Schuster of Michigan, Irene Butler of Michigan, Erma Shepherd of Michigan, Pauline Stacey of Indiana and Japolene Bentley. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
