She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. Herbert Coates and Clemmie Coates of Northtown; and her sisters, Mary Norman, Eldora (Clayton Adwell), Janetta (Earl Bunch), Elizabeth (Georgie Bush) and Tommie (Sonny Kerr).
She is survived by: her husband James Poynter; her children, JD Poynter (Jackie) of Park City and Joy Curtis (Derek) of Wingfied; her grandchildren, Dalton and Dakotah Curtis; her siblings, Rosie Gentry (Wayne), David Coates (Elaine) and Clifford Coates (Kim); and her brother-in-law Donald Norman.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Northtown United Baptist Church (150 Northtown Church Rd, Horse Cave, KY 42749). A burial was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 at the Northtown Cemetery.
