He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Johnson and Irene Johnson; his son Jerry Johnson; and his sisters, Joeatta Sturgeon and Mary Meredith Nunn.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra Johnson; his sons, Mickey Johnson (Janice) and Joseph Johnson (Sandy); and his grandchildren, Joey Jr., Casey Craine, Kaylee Johnson, Christian Rodrieges, Brandon Rodrieges, Melissa Rock, April Finn, Crystal Sallee and Amanda Sallee. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
