He was predeceased by: his wife Peggy Jean Payton; his parents, Alfred Payton and Christine Payton; and his siblings, Arthur Payton, Don Payton and Jo Carol Tollison.
He is survived by: his children, Carol Medley (Mike) and Joe D. Payton; his grandchildren, Gage Wilson, Sydne Medley, Kamn Robertson and Xander Robertson; and his brother Norman Payton.
