He is survived by : his sons, John Colby of Hopkinsville, KY and David Colby (Mary) of Hopkinsville, KY; his siblings, George Colby of Berryville, AR and Cathleen Wall of Hesperia, CA; and his grandchildren, Daniel Wesmolan and Braylyn Wesmolan.

“Dr. John Colby was a hero to me. His care changed my life from being in constant pain and unable to walk. Fighting the pain was driving my loved ones away from me. I felt like someone pored gas on me and lit it. I would wake up screaming in my sleep. Unlike other physicians he read my whole chart and worked with me to find relief. I now live a mostly normal life, love and am loved by my family and friends. I am heartbroken that we are deprived of his company, but I know heaven is his .”
