He was predeceased by: his parents, James Richard Thomas, Sr. and June Walker Thomas; his wife Bonnie Thomas; his son Michael; his brother Danny Thomas; and his great grandchild Willow.
He is survived by: his children, Kenneth Thomas (Jennifer) of Murray, James "Jimbo" Richard Thomas, III and Teresa Knox (Chris) of White Plans; and his sister Patricia Ann Ward. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
