He is survived by: his wife Carole Cook Sweeney of Hopkinsville; his daughter Tracia Gray (Wayne) of Hopkinsville; his daughter-in-law Sara Sweeney Johnson (Ken) of Hopkinsville; his grandchildren, Jenna Gray, Alden Gray of Hopkinsville, Conley Sweeney, Claudia Sweeney of Nashville and Taylor Gray (Parker) of Goodlettsville; and his siblings, Ann Conn (Garland) of Louisville, Midge Milam (George) of Benton and Wayne Sweeney (Lequeta) of Festus, MO..

Visitation was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home (700 Country Club Ln, Hopkinsville, KY 42240). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 at the Riverside Cemetery (119 Metcalfe Ln, Hopkinsville, KY 42240).
