He was predeceased by: his parents, Irvin Jefferson "Dude" Stevens and Lois McAlister Stevens; his wife Clara Mae Owen Stevens; his daughter Connie Walker; and his siblings, IJ Stevens, Homer Stevens, Charles Stevens, Layton Stevens, Elizabeth Oliver, Norine Hall, Allene "Dooter" Blanks and Edith Noel.
He is survived by: his sons, Tony Merrick of Eminence, MO and Stony Merrick (Tammy) of Fairview, KY; and his sisters, Virginia Dawson of Louisville, KY, Nancy Clark of Trigg County, KY and Joanne Rose of Cadiz, KY. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
