She was predeceased by: her parents, John Ed Moss and Carrie Virginia James. She is survived by: her children, Daphne M. Owens and Martin Armstrong; and her siblings, Reggie James, William James, Ronnie James, Gwendolyn Terry and Etrucia "Carol" Campbell. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
