He was predeceased by: his parents, Linnie Wyatt Gardner Sr. and Selmah Bell Gardner; and his siblings, Mary Margaret Skaggs, Carl Leroy, Marvin, Harrison "Shorty", Henry and James "Tubby" Gardner.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Lee Gardner; his children, William Lee Gardner of Florence, Gerald Gardner of Murfreesboro, TN and Jennifer Gardner of Louisville; his siblings, Martha "Jean" Bianco, Gracie Shelton, Doris Lee Skaggs (Steve), Mary Gibson, Ray Gardner (Elizabeth), John "Bobby" Gardner (Barbara), Charles Gardner (Nancy) and Norman Gardner (Diane); and his grandchildren, Emily Gardner, Sean Gardner, Brian Gardner, Katelyn Gardner, Zach Gardner and Adam Reeve. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and in-laws.
