He was predeceased by: his parents, William Stephens and Carrie Lacey Stephens; and his siblings, Christine Ross, Hazel Lovett, Tuxxie Tuttle, Myrtle Reed, Leonard, Joe, James, Nolin and Willie Stephens.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Warren Stephens; his sisters, Catherine Canady of Charleston and Betty Brooks of Charleston; and his niece Carrie Stephens. He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.
