She was predeceased by: her husband Garland "Tommy" Shelton; her parents, Linnie Gardner and Selma Bell Gardner; and her siblings, Mary Margaret Skaggs, Carl Leroy, Linnie, Marvin, Harrison "Shorty", James "Tubby" and Henry Gardner.

She is survived by: her children, Dorothy Lynn Kinyon, Hank Shelton (Michelle), Joe Shelton (Melcenia), Crystal Bruner (Larry) and Patty Ford (Billy); her siblings, Martha "Jean" Bianco, Loris Lee (Stephen), Mary Gibson (Garland), Ray (Elizabeth), Charles (Nancy) and Norman Gardner (Diane); and her grandchildren, Christopher, Billy Bruner, Trina Martin, Mitzi Skaggs, Summer Anthony, Amanda Shelton, Timothy, Joey, Amelia Kinyon, Wesley Karnes and Ryan Ford. She is also survived by great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
