He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Okeson and Helen Okeson; his siblings, Ed Okeson and Carolyn Szklanecki; and his grandsons, Aaron Wieser and John Robert Okeson.

He is survived by: his wife Phyllis'Rebekah'Okeson of Hodgenville; his children, Barbara Weiser (Randy) of Illinois, Margene Kolen (Phil) of California, Mary Schultz (Erik) of Hodgenville, Peter Okeson (Kathy) of Hodgenville and Liz Dickens (Ryan) of Colorado; and his sister Linda Price of North Carolina.
