He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Gardner and Sarah Salsman Gardner; his siblings, Hazel Hodges, Andrew, Ruben, Durred and Leo Gardner; his son-in-law Jerry Rucker; and his great grandchild Evelyn Davis.
He is survived by: his wife Anita DeSpain Gardner; his children, Debbie Rucker, Gwen McCubbin (Kevin) and Steve Gardner (Dianne) of Hodgenville; his siblings, Edna Milby (Handley) of Mt. Sherman, Shirley Jones of Hodgenville and Arlie Gardner of Hodgenville; his grandchildren, Emily Gardner, Brian Rucker (Melissa), Amy Dudgeon (Brian), Nathan Rucker (Tara) and Kelsey Davis (Danny); and his great grandchildren, Zachary, Braxton, Shelby, Scarlett, Emory and Maria.
In lieu of flowers, family request donations to Mt. Tabor Baptist Church or the Gideons and can be made at the funeral home.
