She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Roy and Thelma Lee Owens Weathers; her husband Arthur Wayne Handley; her son Dennis Weathers; her grandson Troy Weathers; and her siblings, Patsy Cobb, Mary Lynn Thurman and Joe David Thurman.

She is survived by: her children, Vera Weathers, Andre Weathers (Shakara) and Kerwin Weathers (Kaitlyn); and her sister Sue Ann Best. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
