He was predeceased by: his parents, Roger Walthall and Virgie Walthall; and his sibling Terry Lane Walthall. He is survived by: his wife Sherri Sue Walthall; his son Brandon Dale Walthall; his niece Mercedes Lyn Whiles; and his grandson Dylan Ray Walthall.

Dale battled with Parkinson's Disease in recent years and showed his courage in facing those challenges with a smile.
