He is survived by: his wife Vivian S. Barnes; his son John Mark Barnes of Boston, Massachusetts; his sister Mary Anne Short of San Antonio, Texas; and his sisters-in-law, Beverly Barnes of Carrollton and Joyce Barnes of Hornbeck, Louisiana.
