He was predeceased by: his parents, Bridges Johnson and Venice Ellis Johnson; and his children, Gene Edward Johnson and Penny Bowman. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Terrell Johnson; his children, Rickey Dale Johnson (Tina) of Portsmouth, Ohio, Tammy Darby (Jeff) of Bucyrus and Glenda Edward of Bethpage, Tennessee; his grandchildren, Travis Johnson, Jessica Johnson, Shannon Darby, Jared Darby, Jeremy Darby, Sydney Johnson, Dalton Johnson, Jonathan Bowman, Alexandria McClain, Sarah Bowman, Kelly Bowman, Makayla Bowman, Amanda Bowman and Nicole Brewer; his siblings, Larry Johnson (Barb) of Morehead and Peggy Hardin (Larry) of Morehead; and his son-in-law Johnny Bowman of Morehead. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
