He was predeceased by: his parents, Alois Gerhardstein and Martha Gerhardstein; his children, Tony and Paula; and his sisters, Irene Kosse, Jane Foertsch, Sr., Mary and Ellen Reik.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Clare Gerhardstein (Schuh); his daughter-in-law Sandy Gerhardstein; and his children, Martha Romans (Larry), Beth Skulas (Ron), Joe Gerhardstein (Clay) and Carl Gerhardstein (Lisa). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
