He was predeceased by: his daughters, Cheryle Ladecker and Jennifer Jo Sullivan. He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Dowdy of Hickory; his sons, John R. Dowdy (Debra) of Kevil and Tony Dowdy of Kevil; and his stepchildren, Patricia Decker, Douglas Davidson and Russell Davidson.
