He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Garnett Jones Sweeney, Sr. and Virginia Bell Sweeney. He is survived by: his sons, Clay Sweeney (Jerusha) of Hustonville and Ben Sweeney (Tawney) of Louisville; his siblings, Dr. G. J. Sweeney, Jr. (Shelley) of Lexington and Barbara Sue Griffin (Larry) of Liberty; his grandchildren, Justin, Connor and Tori; and the mother of his children Pam Sweeney of Danville.
