He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Thompson and Zora Mae Thompson (Jackson); his son Christopher Thompson; and his sisters, Virginia Cleary (Peggy), Linda Lou Thompson and Fannie Marie Thompson.
He is survived by: his close friend Carlotta Grimsley; and his siblings, Terry Thompson (Sandra) of Hestand, David Thompson (June) of Gallatin, Tennessee and Pamela Garmon of Tompkinsville, Kentucky. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
