He was predeceased by: his parents, Grover Hurd and Polly Hurd (Copas); his grandparents, Comer, Inez Hurd, Oscar and Minnie Copas; and his sister-in-law Bonnie Hurd.
He is survived by: his close friend Sherri Proffitt; his brother James Hurd of Winchester; his nephew Chris Hurd (Valerie) of Richmond; and his stepgranddaughter Bree-Ann McClendon of Hestand, Kentucky..
