He was predeceased by: his wife Jeanette Burton; and his sister Barbara Hagan. He is survived by: his wife Jan Mathews Burton; his children, Gary Burton (Dale) of Henderson, Kentucky, Barry Burton (Donna) of Henderson, Kentucky, Tammy Thomas (Porky) of Henderson, Kentucky and Lulu Jones (Brent) of Henderson, Kentucky; his stepsons, Stan Higdon of Evansville, Indiana and Hugh Higdon of Evansville, Indiana; and his siblings, Jenny Funk of Henderson, Kentucky and Jerry Burton (Kathleen) of Henderson, Kentucky. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; numerous cousins; and many friends.
