He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Comer and Della Comer; his sisters, Jean Miller, Dixie Haverty, Icealee Miller and Pearl Nutt; and his great grandchild Ryan Comer.
He is survived by: his children, Stephanie Skaggs of Henderson, Leslie Sheets (Mark) of Lexington, Kentucky, Kennie Comer (Angela) of Henderson and Scottie Comer (Beth) of Fishers, Indiana; his siblings, Helen Yarnell of Parkersburg and D. K. Comer of Poole, Kentucky; his grandchildren, Chelsie McElfresh (Andrew), Spencer Skaggs, Bella Grace Sheets, Lillie Sheets, Jack Sheets, Tyler Comer (Shelley), Codie Comer (Erin), Hunter Comer (Madi Peace), Hadlie Comer, Maddie Comer, Will Comer and Wes Comer; and his great grandchildren, Guy McElfresh, Emma Jock and Silas Comer. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
