He was predeceased by: his mother Virginia McGar; his stepfather Vernon McGar; and his pet Diamond. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Barnett Byrum; his stepdaughters, Corinne Jackson (Mark) of Mississippi and Kathy Kessler (Jim) of Evansville; and his granddaughters, Amber Childress (Jared), Andi Vinson (Jason Puckett), Annie Sanson (Shawn) and Ashley James (Michael Wright). He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several cousins.
