He was predeceased by: his parents, Harley "Gene" Simpson and Doris Simpson; his grandmother Alberta Smith; his brother Bobby Simpson; his niece Ashley Simpson; and his mother-in-law Carolyn Turpin.

He is survived by: his wife Kristia Simpson of Henderson, KY; his children, Bryce Simpson (Lauren) of Henderson, KY and Bailey Simpson of Henderson, KY; his brother Ronnie Simpson of Evansville, IN; his grandchildren, Libby, Max and Wilder Simpson; and his special little buddy Cameron.
