He was predeceased by: his former wife Flossie Wilson Thomas; his wife Imogene "Jean" Thomas; his parents, Lacy Thomas and Macie Cummins Thomas; and his siblings, Thelma Thomas, Daphne Major and Aubrey Thomas.
He is survived by: his daughters, Norma Rankin (Bradley) of Paducah, Esther Thomas of Henderson and Lisa Major (Joseph) of Louisville, Kentucky; his stepchildren, Judy Gaines of Henderson, Kentucky and Ricky Gish of Henderson, Kentucky; and his siblings, Doris Shelton of Somerset, Jean Thomas Tuitele of Hopkinsville, Kentucky and Lacy D. Thomas, Jr. of Elizabethtown, Kentucky. He is also survived by three grandchildren; 13 stepgrandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
