He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Jones and Dora Jones (Caldwell); his wife Phyllis; his siblings, Ruth Ann Patterson, Charlene Shiflett, Henry, Clyde, Harry and Gary Jones; and his sister-in-law Ellen Jones.
He is survived by: his sons, Hugh Jones, Jr. (Ashley) of Heidrick and Herman Jones (Alicia) of Pineville; his grandchildren, Tiffany Jones, Christina Corder, Matt Jones, Josh Jones, Quiara Jones, Jena Jones, Caitlin Jones, Rebecca St. John and Havin Jones; and his brothers, Tom Jones (Dreama) of Hamilton, Harold Jones (Donna) of Corbin, Mike Jones of Corbin, Terry Jones (Marilyn) of Hamilton and Raymond Jones of Greenroad. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
