He was predeceased by: his parents, Spicy Sallee (Slone Harlow) and Samuel Harlow; his stepfather Albert Sallee; his siblings, Nina Sallee, Rose Watts, Lelia "Tootsie" Henley, Marilyn Snow, Milburn Harlow, Sloan Harlow and Ansel Harlow; his former wife Judith "Judy" Stadtlander Harlow; his son-in-law Nikola Tesla; and his stepson Kenneth Pollitt.
He is survived by: his wife Margie; his children, Linda Harlow Tesla and Joseph M. Harlow; his stepchildren, Joseph Pollitt (Sara) and Marilee Pollitt; and his grandchildren, Lauren Tesla Swayne (Tyler), Katelyn Tesla (Nathan Farwell), Dylan Pollitt and Brennan Pollitt. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
