He was predeceased by: his parents, Raleigh P. Rice and Golden Taulbee Rice; his wife Wanda Graham Rice; his daughter Linda Kay Rice; his siblings, Olan Rice, Dorothy Strong (Delmar), Anna Lou Strong (Charles), Ivanell Nickell (Lowell) and Merna Allen (Everett); and his siblings-in-law, Kendall Lawson and Dixie Davis.
He is survived by: his brother Austin Rice (Wilma) of Pine Ridge, Kentucky; his granddaughters, Tonya Buttrey (Bill) of Morehead and Tracy Wireman (Terry) of West Liberty, Kentucky; his great grandchildren, Logan Buttrey, Kaitlyn Buttrey, Caleb Brown and Shelby Brown; and his siblings-in-law, Leo Davis and Marcella Lawson. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
