With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Levi Oaks Jr. of Hazard, Kentucky, born in Jackson, Kentucky, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 1, 2024 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Levi Oaks, Sr. and Florence Thomas Oaks; and his wife Mary Virginia Miller Oaks. He is survived by: his sons, Sam Oaks (Nancy) of Blackey, KY. and James Burnus Oaks of Blackey, KY.; his siblings, Charles Oaks, Eudell Johnson, Golden Moore and Helen Adkins; his grandchildren, Matt Oaks, Ashely Nicole Smith, Trey Edward Oaks, Alison Rogers Jenny Lou (Jefferson Able, Jr.) and Susie Shepherd (Elisha); and his great grandchildren, Natalie Rice, Eli Oaks, Braylon Smith, Hayden Smith, Peyton Smith, Paisley Smith, Brooklyn Shepherd, Bentley Shepherd, Nolan Able, Ashton Gwinn and Aaron Gwinn. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many other friends.
