He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth C. Rice and Thelma Newman Rice. He is survived by: his wife Regina Crowe Rice; his children, Leda R. McBride (Steve) and Shelby K. Rice, Jr (Lisa); his grandchildren, Dacquri Smeathers (Dusty), Damian Rice (Annie), DaKendra Rice and Nicholas McBride (Stephanie); his great grandchildren, Lane, Kolt, Izek Smeathers, Macie and Maggie McBride; and his siblings, Shirley Raikes, Shelia Dixon (Joe), Stephanie Anthony (Van) and Steve Rice (Lisa). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
