He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Ray and Josie Sanders Ray; his wife Maxine Ray; his great grandchild Samantha Phelps; his son-in-law John Phelps; and his siblings, James Ray, Brownie Powers and Ruth Powers.
He is survived by: his daughter Diann Meador (Joel); his grandchildren, Kim Wilborn (Joe) and John Phelps (Maryanne); his great grandchildren, Aaron (Katy), Sarah (Ethan), Joshua, Dustin, Jade, Valen, Aria, Paul and Varro; and his great great grandchildren, Eden, Landen, Sophyia, Analeigh and Xavier.
