He was predeceased by: his father James Samuel Wheatley; and his son Jared Wheatley. He is survived by: his mother Frances Powers Wheatley; his wife Loretta Johnson Wheatley; his daughter Debbie Rust; his grandchildren, Logan Pritchett, Abigail Pritchett, Ian Rust, Breana Wheatley and Paige Sandage; and his siblings, Sherry Ramsey (Randy) and Gary Wheatley (Linda).
