He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles "Dutch" Nelson and Lucile Beatrice Brinkman Nelson; and his siblings, John Nelson, Majil Steiner, Beverly Hagan, Bonnie Nelson and Patches.
He is survived by: his wife Nell Rearden-Nelson; his sons, Kerry Nelson (Brian) of Minnesota and Kyle Nelson of Chicago; his siblings, Rodney Nelson (Judy) of Wisconsin, Wayne Nelson of Wisconsin, Neil Nelson (Linda) of Minnesota and Myrna Hagan of Wisconsin; his siblings-in-law, Bro. Leroy Rearden (Shirley), Phillip Rearden (Toni), Roger Rearden (Laurie) and Joyce Adkins (Max); and his pets, Paige and Lacey. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
