He was predeceased by: his parents, John Leslie "Les" and Margaret Ransom (Sernau); his former wife Linda Ransom; and his siblings, Linda Freeman, Loretta Oxley, Juanita Rhodes and John Ransom, Jr..
He is survived by: his daughters, Lisa Motteler (Carl) of Punta Gorda, FL, Lori Fredrickson (Kevin) of Grace, ID and Leslie Holcomb (Bayne); and his grandchildren, Morgan Bube (Mason), C. J. Ransom (Katie), Rikki LeDune (Josh), Zach Ziegelgruber (Ravyn), A. J. Kempf and Cory Brownlee. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren.
