He was predeceased by: his parents, William Edward Sutton and Flona Elliott Sutton; and his siblings, Betty Rowan and Elroy Sutton. He is survived by: his children, Ava Sturgeon (Frank) of Hawesville, Patty Alsip (Chris) of Utica, Kelly Gossett (Monnie Brown) of Hartford and Eddie Sutton (Rachelle) of Hartford; his grandchildren, Aaron, Joshua, Jacob, Lynsie, Jeremiah, Andrew, Leslie, Jessica, Laura, Luke and Beau; his brother David O. Sutton of Anchorage, AK; and his pets, Ellie and Teddy. He is also survived by twenty-four great grandchildren.
