She was predeceased by: her parents, Cecil Carter and Flora Mae Sebastain Davis; her daughter Jeanne Marie Oakes; her brother Ronald Edward Davis; and her parents-in-law, Thomas Cecil and Della Mae Speake Oakes.
She is survived by: her husband Bennie M. Oakes of Lexington; her children, Marsha Ann Oakes Eden (Michael W. Eden) of Nicholasville and Samuel Timothy (Tim); her granddaughters, Shelby Elizabeth Deal Nicholasville (Mitch Deal), Taylor Jeanette Barnes (Seth Barnes) of Lexington, Katie Michelle Ferrier Nicholasville (Elliott Ferrier), Savanna Katherine Oakes and Hallie Grace Oakes; and her great grandchild Lincoln Wesley Barnes.
