He was predeceased by: his parents, Owen Sanders and Annabelle Royalty Sanders; and his siblings, Wanda Wolcott, JoAnn Burton, Debra Sadler, Harold Sanders and Kenny Sanders.

He is survived by: his wife Judy Springate Sanders; his sons, Jeffrey Paul Sanders (Janet) of Harrodsburg and Joseph Patrick Sanders (Lisa) of Mesa, Arizona; his sisters, Frances Sanders of Harrodsburg, Peggy Burns (Jerry) of Harrodsburg, Becky Gooch of Richmond and Donna Sanders of Harrodsburg; his grandchildren, Amy Watts (Buddy), Garrett Sanders (Brooklyn), Paige Gibson (Chris), Chase Sanders and Christian Sanders; and his great grandchild Avery Watts. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
