He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edgar and Mae Belle Chappell II (Wilson); and his son Jacob Chappell. He is survived by: his wife Jennifer L. Chappell; his daughter Brie Metzger (Ben Minks) of Lexington, KY; his stepsons, Chris Givens and Patrick Neal; his brother Danny Chappell of Roanoke, VA; his grandchildren, Eric Hughes (Brittney), Jacob Metzger, Bailey Neal, Rebecca Metzger, Trinity Minks and Jackson Minks; his great grandchildren, Annlee Hughes, Illyana Hughes and Bryson Metzger; and his niece Ashley Messenger.
