He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Grimes and Ruth Grimes; his wife Jewell Grimes; his sisters, Wanda and Faye Grimes; and his great great grandchild Addison Grimes.

He is survived by: his daughter Patsy Plunkett; his grandson Curt Barker (Rosemary); his great grandchild Courtney Norris; his great great grandchild Sebastian; his niece Dana Gartrell; and his sister-in-law Linda Tanner.
