She was predeceased by: her husband Emmett Clements Newman; her parents, Hubert Thompson and Ollie Clark Thompson; her daughter Tami Phillips; and her brother Beecher Thompson.
She is survived by: her children, Owen Phillips (Brenda) of Stanford, Mark Phillips of Greenville, TN, Suzie Padgett of Waynesburg, Lori Clements (Gary) of Harrodsburg and Shonda Turner; and her siblings, Bobby Thompson of Junction City, Jack Thompson (Carolyn) of Charlestown, Brenda Thompson of Lexington and Kathy Nowlin of Harrodsburg. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
