It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sarah Nelums of Harlan, Kentucky, born in Newberry, South Carolina, who passed away on July 6, 2022, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Oren Nelums; her parents, Tom Gorie and Katie Setzler Gorie; her children, Oren Nelums, Jr. and Joann Nelums; and her siblings, Katie Gorie, Virginia Gorie, Mary Davenport, Tommy, Nathaniel, George, Owen and Hubert Gorie.
She is survived by: her children, Robert Dennis, Jr. (Charlene), Virginia, Janie Phillips (Albert), Harlan, Johnny Nelums and Anita Nelums; and her grandchildren, Oren Joseph Nelums, Moreka Kaye Simion, Jimmy Nelums, Ashley Presley (Brian), Reginald Dennis, Candice Sergent (Jamie), Travis Nelums, George Nelums, Sherard Phillips, Shereka Shepherd (Arbin), Landen Phillips, Alazhia Phillips, Jordan Thomas and Nathaniel Thomas. She is also survived by great-grandchildren.
